The Vibro-Somatic Shift: Designing for Post-Verbal Environments
Proposes a future where mechanical vibration (the ‘in-between’ of sound and touch) becomes our primary language for a post-screen world. As digital noise reaches a state of sensory saturation by 2026, we speculate on a retreat into the ‘felt’ medium, utilizing the body's largest sensory organ to communicate complex emotional states. This work challenges to look beyond the screen. By treating vibration as a designable medium, we push HCI into the realm of Affective Haptics, imagining a future where we read technology with the body, not the ear.
